Statement

As humans, we all have our own personal archive of memories based on individual experiences. These memories reflect a myriad of experiences from the day-to-day interactions with family members and the closeness we shared with them, to our educational and cultural familiarities with toys and games we played and the music we listen too. Objects from my personal archive have informed a current and developing body of work that is reflective of specific objects that include plastic toy soldiers, aspirin, vintage swim caps and carpet bag purses. These objects are not only unique to my experiences, but they are woven into a collective of cultural experiences we share in various forms. While the Recast/Rework artwork is under realization, these works re-examine and re-frame the some of the consequences these objects support through generations of experiences undermining our futures.
